Meet Lisa

“I'm a licensed physical therapist with a special interest in women's health and pelvic floor function. My passion is helping women prepare for the experience of motherhood, as well as helping moms recover appropriately from pregnancy and childbirth.”

Lisa Beitman is a licensed physical therapist specializing in women's health with an emphasis on pelvic floor function. Her passion encompasses a focus on the overall health of women in all stages of life. This includes but is not limited to preparing the female body for the experience of childbirth and motherhood, helping in appropriately recovering from pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, and rehabilitation from abdominal surgeries.

Lisa has been a dedicated physical therapist for over 21 years. She uses both her professional knowledge as a therapist and also her personal experience as a mother of two in order to allow her an intimate understanding of some of the physical phenomena that may result from the beauty and trauma of pregnancy and childbirth on a body. Lisa brings a sense of empathy and common-sense creativity to her practice as she understands the challenges of new motherhood both physically and emotionally. Her goal is to show her patients that there are solutions and they can improve their physical well-being by introducing physical therapy into their lives.

Lisa received her Master of Physical Therapy from Temple University in 2002. In 2010 she earned her Herdman Vestibular Course Certificate of Competency from Emory University, and in 2011 completed the Cervicogenic Dizziness: Evidence-Based Competency Course. Next in 2017, she went on to earn level 1 and 2 Certificate of Achievement in Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Therapy (CAPP-OB) from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

From 2002 to 2005 Lisa worked at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, focusing on neurological conditions in stroke and rehabilitation units, post-surgical orthopedics, and acute care (post-surgery, oncology, cardiology). In 2005 she relocated to Boston, MA to further her professional development at the world-renowned Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital (Boston HQ and Medford Satellite Clinic). There, she treated neurological conditions, chronic pain, women's health, and general orthopedics. Lisa also initiated the creation of the vestibular program, assisted with bracing clinics, taught modified Pilates classes to individuals with spinal injuries, and supervised the adaptive sports program.

Upon moving back to the area in 2011 Lisa joined the staff at Willow Grove Physical Therapy in Willow Grove, PA, where she focused on sub-acute and chronic post-concussive patients, and general orthopedics. From 2013-2021 Lisa practiced part-time at The Neurology Psychiatry Balance Therapy Center in Blue Bell, PA. There she helped patients address dizziness and balance due to vestibular pathology as well as women's health including pregnancy and postpartum. Lisa’s main focus is now her home practice in Glenside, PA treating her patients privately with one on one care in a beautiful stress-free environment.
